The HBO Go iPad app was named the best in show at the MOBI Awards, Digiday’s honors for the best in mobile marketing and media.
HBO released Go in April for the iPad, iPhone and Android devices. The app has on-demand streaming of a vast library of HBO programming. It requires a verified cable subscription and is part of the Time Warner unit’s HBO Everywhere initiative.
Bravo was also a top winner. It took home the award for Best Mobile/Social Integrated Campaign for Top Chef and Best Mobile App for Social Media for Bravo Now. Bravo was also had a finalist entry in Best Mobile/Social Integrated Campaign for Real Housewives and Best Mobile App for Branded Content for Bravo Now.
One surprise winner was Diario des Noticias, a Portugese newspaper, which took home top honors in Best Mobile App for Editorial Content, beating out finalists BloombergBusinessweek and National Geographic.
