UK Twitter got a bit racy with trending hashtag #SpellingMistakeBrands

Nothing is sacred on the internet. Not even crisps.

Today, U.K. Twitter users took to the platform to share their tongue-in-cheek puns involving big brand names. Under the hashtag #SpellingMistakeBrands, things turned fairly blue pretty quickly.

It all started off nice and civilised. One of the most popular posts was from online retailer BoohooMan, which shared airline Ryanair’s gag about footballer Christiano Ronaldo, who had an airport named after him this week. So far, so inoffensive.

Cosmetic brand L’Oreal Men Expert also kept it family-friendly with this riff about pens.

However, online shoe retailer Public Desire — never one to shy away from puns like “sandalous”  — chimed in with a dirty joke.

Popchips U.K. also bought in the toilet humour to talk about its crisps.

Most brands got dragged into the trending topic without asking, though. Fellow crisp brand Walkers was the obvious choice for a lot of people.
