Bleacher Report garnered two finalist nominations in the Digiday Video Awards, recognizing the brands, agencies and publishers achieving breakthroughs in video advertising.
The sports-focused digital media company, owned by Turner Sports, is up for Best Brand Video Destination or Channel for “Uninterrupted.” Created in partnership with Cleveland Cavalier LeBron James’ sports marketing company LRMR Management Co., the video channel hosts video content created by athletes rather than the Bleacher Report editorial team. Bleacher Report is also up for Best Social Video Campaign for “Game of Zones,” a cartoon spoof of hit series “Game of Thrones” that features NBA news.
In all, 41 finalists have been chosen across 11 categories. Other finalists include Golf Digest, SoulPancake, Team One, and 72andSunny. Several rounds of judging took place earlier in 2015 by creative and video executives from 72andSunny, Chobani, Hearst Digital Studios, Mindshare North America, StyleHaul and many more. “This year’s finalists are stellar,” said Chris Dorr, Digiday Video Awards judge and executive director of the Global Online Video Association. “They’re very creative and pushing the boundaries of innovation as well.”
The winners will be announced at the Digiday Video Awards Gala, taking place on Jan. 20, 2016 at B. B. King in New York City and hosted by comedian Jenni Ruiza. Tickets are already available for purchase here.
