The Washington Post, TBWA\Chiat\Day, Dotdash and more receive nominations for first Digiday WorkLife Awards
From Bagel Mondays to better benefits, companies are building workplace cultures and programs to attract and retain talent. This is why Digiday Careers launched the first-ever Digiday WorkLife Awards in March this year.
Companies including The Washington Post, TBWA\Chiat\Day and Dotdash are nominated for categories across innovation, diversity and employee growth at the inaugural Digiday WorkLife Awards, presented by Digiday Careers. The Digiday WorkLife Awards showcase the media and marketing world’s best work environments as well as the values and cultural initiatives that make them unique.
The Washington Post is up for Most Innovative Culture. The media company’s investment in technology, from fast-loading ads to mobile apps, has paid dividends for its digital reach. The publisher’s digital readers spent an average of 17.8 minutes on washingtonpost.com in July, up 6 percent year over year, according to comScore.
TBWA\Chiat\Day, the American division of global agency TBWA Worldwide, is nominated for Most Committed to Diversity and Inclusion. The agency has launched various internal initiatives, including two blogs — Diversifacts and the TBWA\Chiat\Day NY Tumblr — and a livestream series, to highlight the agency’s diverse workforce and the diverse work the agency produces.
Dotdash — formerly About.com — is in the running for Executive Team of the Year. Starting in 2016, the 20-year-old online publisher About.com launched six publishing verticals and rebranded itself to Dotdash. Dotdash CEO Neil Vogel has led the transition since 2014. In June 2017, Vogel told Digiday that Dotdash’s health vertical Verywell is attracting 8 million readers per month, according to comScore.
